Funeral Alternatives of Washington Opens Location in Federal Way

New Facility Will Feature the Innovative ShareLife® Experience

Federal Way, WA - Funeral Alternatives of Washington, the area's premier value-oriented alternative to the high cost of traditional funeral homes, has announced the opening of its fourth location. The new facility is located at 31919 6th Avenue South, Suite 200 in Federal Way. Funeral Alternatives, launched in 2002 by Clair and Sharon Ferris, currently has locations in Centralia, Lacey and Tumwater.

"Since Sharon and I opened the doors of the first Funeral Alternatives location, our goal has been to provide every family in the South Sound area with a life celebration that honors their traditions," stated Clair Ferris. "In looking around, we saw an opportunity to expand our operations to the Federal Way community. We look forward to now offering families in the area the innovative products and services we offer at our other three locations."

The Federal Way location's meeting room will feature ShareLife®, a multi-sensory experience which transforms the traditional funeral event into a celebration of beautiful memories over a person's lifetime - offering hope, healing, laughter, and tears for family and friends.

"ShareLife® creates an experience that differentiates Funeral Alternatives from every other funeral home in the area," commented Ferris. "It features larger than life photographic backdrops that share the story of a lifetime with family and friends using mementos, videos themes, personal photos, music and sound effects. Memories made at the beach, on the golf course, or in service to one's country are relived again in a setting like no other."

Funeral Alternatives was developed as a new business model for funeral service more than fifteen years ago. The operation is based on the concept of not "selling" families, but first listening and then simply walking families through the various alternatives available related to the funeral service for their loved one. From the first conversation, through the arrangement process, to the life celebration, it is the goal of the staff at Funeral Alternatives to help those left behind to navigate more easily through their grief journey.

At its foundation, Funeral Alternatives is dedicated to doing what is in the best interest of families. From traditional burial services, simple cremations or special requests, the staff at every Funeral Alternatives location works hard to incorporate a family's traditions and customs in offering a range of affordable services.

"This new location is located on the Aging Options elder care campus and will provide more convenience to the people of south King County who are looking for the finest care and service at a fair price," commented Ferris.

David McNeil has been hired as the Location Manager for the Funeral Alternatives operation at Federal Way. McNeil has more than 35 years of experience as a funeral professional and brings a deep, multi-cultural experience to the position.

The firm is planning a public open house from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on March 1st. A Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will take place at 5:00 PM. At the event, the staff will provide tours of the new facility and be available to answer questions about their service options, including ShareLife®.
